TRENTON - Protesters are camped out across the street from the State House today to bring attention to what they say is the mishandling of Sandy relief funds.
The group claims middle class and poor people have not received their fair share of funding. It also claims black and Latino applicants have been disproportionately rejected for resettlement and construction grants.
They plan to stay out there until Tuesday, when Gov. Chris Christie will be sworn in for his second term.
This protest comes on the heels of new allegations made by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer that the Christie administration withheld Sandy aid to Hoboken in retaliation for the mayor not supporting a redevelopment project.
