A double shooting in Fordham killed a 34-year-old man and severely injured another.
The NYPD has identified the victim who has lost his life as Bronx resident Michael Mendez, 34.
Residents in the area told News 12 a fight broke out among people living inside of a bus parked on Morris Avenue and East Fordham Road.
Police say someone started shooting on the street. Investigators say officers found a 38-year-old man shot multiple times and a Mendez shot in the stomach and armpit.
Authorities say both of the men were transported to the hospital, where the Mendez died and the other victim remains in critical condition.
Some residents tell News 12 that the other victim in the shooting was Christopher Mendez and that he was the brother of Michael Mendez.
One witness tells News 12 that he heard six shots in total. Others say that this was a disaster just waiting to happen.
"The bus had no license plate, and it shouldn't be parked there because it has garbage bags up where you can't see what's going on inside," the resident said.
According to 311, multiple complaints have been reported about the abandoned bus.
Police have not confirmed any information regarding the vehicle.
