Although the coronavirus outbreak has disrupted many aspects of life in New Jersey, life must go on.
People all around the state are still planning events that are months away, such as weddings. And people who work in the wedding-planning industry say that they are doing their part to make sure that the outbreak doesn’t hurt a couple’s special day.
“This will probably be the biggest celebration someone has ever had in their entire lives,” says Marie Danielle Vil-Young, owner of A Votre Service events.

Vil-Young says that even before the virus hit the United States, she was planning ahead.
“We’re in a position where we don’t panic,” she says.
She says that China is one of the places where she gets many of her products.
“We’ve been moving orders ahead to other parts of the world and buying elsewhere," she says.
Places like Pakistan for example.
Vil-Young says that she has also ramped up all of her cleaning and disinfecting.
But even brides-to-be say that they are making changes to their weddings in the wake of the outbreak.
“We’re having a microwedding. It’s going to be very small, very intimate,” says Shovon Gooding, who is getting married on Oct. 10.
Gooding says that she will make sure that everything is cleaned and wiped down at the venue.
“Somewhere for [guests] to go to wash their hands, hand sanitizer,” she says.
Vil-Young says that she has a background in science, doing lab research so she knows ways to limit the transmissions of diseases.
