The once-dead New Jersey Zombie Walk may be reanimated once again in Asbury Park, thanks to a local bar owner.
Last month, the walk's original organizer, Jason Meehan, said that the event grew too large and got too expensive for him to run. He was planning a zombie funeral instead of a walk in October.
Now John McGillion, owner of the bar Johnny Macs on Main Street in Asbury Park, says he has submitted paperwork to hold the walk once again. He has Meehan's support and may eventually take over the event.
Asbury Park officials say they support the walk and will know within a few weeks if the permits will be approved.
