NJ Turnpike Authority finds boy’s lost teddy bear at rest stop
A boy will soon be reunited with his beloved teddy bear thanks to the power of social media and the work of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
Julissa Viana says her son lost the bear while the family was at a rest stop along the Turnpike. They were on their way to the Outer Banks for vacation at the time.
Viana tells News 12 New Jersey that they did not realize that the bear was lost until after they arrived in North Carolina. Her son was devastated, so she took to Twitter in an attempt to find the stuffed animal.
Since the family stopped at several rest stops in New Jersey, they weren't sure where the bear was lost. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority quickly reached out to Viana to help find the bear.
A few hours later, after checking with the managers at several rest stops, the bear was finally found at the Clara Barton Service Area.
"I think we have your son's bear in custody," the Turnpike Authority tweeted.
Viana was able to identify the bear and says that she is working with the agency to get the bear back.
