There are no snacks in these vending machines – New Jersey Transit is launching a pilot program to put PPE items inside them instead.
The agency installed PPE machines at Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal.
The machines sell face masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and disposable gloves. One disposable mask costs $1. A 10-pack of KN95 masks costs $25. Reusable masks will also be sold.
NJ Transit says that more PPE machines will be installed in other train stations later.
