New Jersey voters will decide on Election Day whether state parks and historic sites will be paid for in a different way.

Ballot question number two asks voters to decide if money should be shifted from one Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) account into another, which would provide guaranteed park funding. Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk (R-39th District) says environmental corporate business tax money would be redirected towards parks.

If approved, $15 million a year would be provided over 10 years for major improvements to state parks and historic sites. Elected officials say after the first 10 years, the park funding would increase to more than $30 million a year.
