A Bergen County school is helping the family of a former hometown star and military hero.
Graduates of Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey have raised more than $270,000 for the family of U.S. Army Maj. Thomas Kennedy. He was a popular hockey player at the school.
Kennedy was one of four Americans killed along with an Afghan civilian in a suicide attack on Aug. 8. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. He leaves behind a wife and young twins.
