ASBURY PARK - The latest shooting in Asbury Park has claimed the life of a young father from Bradley Beach.
Daniel Graves was shot multiple times at the corners of Dewitt and Bangs avenues, shortly after finishing his shift at a clothing store Thursday evening.
Megan Ortega, the mother of his 1-year-old daughter, tells News 12 New Jersey that Graves felt comfortable walking around Asbury Park where he grew up because he got along with everybody. She says, "I used to ask him not to walk the streets. He didn't listen."
Ortega and other family members set up a memorial where Graves was murdered with candles and balloons. His sister says she knows five people who, like her brother, have been killed in Asbury Park.
There have been three shootings in Asbury Park over the past week. All three remain under investigation.
