Wrong-way driver killed on Route 18 in Piscataway

PISCATAWAY - An accident overnight in Piscataway claimed the life of an unidentified man who was allegedly driving the wrong way on Route 18 near River Road.

Police say that 21-year-old Meet Shah, of Edison, was driving on Route 18 when he tried to swerve to avoid the wrong-way driver but couldn?t; resulting in the other driver's death.

Shah was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Authorities say he will not be charged in the death of the other driver.

Police are still investigating why the other driver was driving the wrong way.
