PORT MONMOUTH - Students at Thorne Middle School in Port Monmouth had a special visit today from a group honoring America's heroes. A convoy from "Wreaths Across America" stopped at the school today on their journey down to Arlington National Cemetery.

Members of the group have been placing wreaths on memorials and gravestones of veterans ever since they left from Maine. This is all leading to the big ceremony in Washington, D.C..

Thorne Middle School Principal Thomas Olausen is pleased his school was chosen for a visit. "We're the only school in the state of New Jersey named for a Congressional Medial of Honor recipient." Olausen also says that the students are "well aware of this history and are really excited."

Wreaths Across America Day will be held this Saturday at Arlington National Cemetery.
