Workers repair water main in Bergen County

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS - Workers have completed repairs to a 30-inch water main that burst yesterday in Englewood Cliffs.

However, United Water officials continue to urge residents of Englewood Cliffs, Englewood residents east of Grand Avenue and Engle Street and Tenafly residents east of Engle Street to continue to boil water for consumption until further notice.

United Water says it takes between one and two days for the state Environmental Protection Department to review test results and lift the boil water advisory.

Residents in Fort Lee, Leonia and Palisades Park are advised to use water for essential purposes until they are notified that normal water pressure has been restored.

"Customers can help us return to normal pressure in the area through conservation," said Jim Glozzy, general manager of United Water New Jersey, in a news release today. "It is essential that customers in these communities use water only for their basic needs until the water pressure is restored completely."
