Workers clearing slushy roads

ELMWOOD PARK - While this wintry storm is a nuisance and a hazard for many, it’s a money maker for those tasked with clearing the roads.

For plow operators, the falling snow is like dollars falling from the sky. After two winters with little to no snow, this storm signals a payday for those who make a living keeping the roads clear.

The best advice for motorists is to stay off the roads. And when it comes to shoveling this wet, heavy snow, it’s best to leave that to the professionals. Shoveling this type of snow can lead to injuries and even heart attacks if overdone.

It’s advised that those shoveling by hand do so in small stages.
