Woman to be extradited to NJ after kidnapping daughter 26 years ago

EDISON - Nearly three decades after a bitter divorce and custody battle led Nancy Fiedler to allegedly kidnap her own daughter and take her to Nevada, Fiedler will be extradited back to New Jersey.

Fiedler lost custody of her then 6-year-old daughter, Eva Marie, to her ex-husband. Instead of giving up custody, she allegedly abducted her own daughter.

For Patricia Kurdyla-Hnidj, a former neighbor, she remembers the two as being inseparable.

"I feel so bad for her because she probably feels she has no one," said Kurdyla-Hnidj.

Fiedler has waived extradition and will be returned to Somerset County soon.
