WOODBRIDGE - A woman attacked by a robber at Woodbridge Center Mall last year is now suing the township, saying it did not do enough to protect public safety.

Ellen Shane was attacked at the mall and had a knife held to her throat by a robber before he was shot dead by police. Shane says she was also injured when the police killed her attacker and claims she and her husband have been suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.

Shane is suing for $5 million. The mayor of Woodbridge has defended the officer's actions, saying he helped save Shane's life.
