BERKELEY TOWNSHIP (AP) - A woman walking in a highway crosswalk with another person was struck and killed by a pizza deliveryman.

Denise Iesals, 49, of Bayville was hit as she was crossing Route 9 in Berkeley Township Saturday night.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says the driver of the 2009 Hyundai Sonata, 22-year-old Alexander Aguilar, was returning from delivering a pizza for Domino's pizza when the accident occurred.

A second person, Nelson Negron Jr. of Little Egg Harbor, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Both victims were walking within a designated crosswalk.

The prosecutor's office says Aguilar hadn't used his cellphone in the moments before the crash, but admitted he had looked down to count his tip.

The accident is under investigation.
