Authorities say a woman from Jackson was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train Saturday night.

LONG BRANCH - Authorities say a woman from Jackson was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train Friday night.

It happened shortly before 7 p.m. in Long Branch. It's unclear why the woman was on the tracks when the incident occurred.

The woman has been identified as 21-year-old Samantha Morales.

None of the passengers and crew aboard the train were hurt.

Authorities say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
