PARK RIDGE - A 20-month-old boy was saved from drowning in a hotel pool when a Good Samaritan rescued him after he was allegedly throw in by his father.

Police say the child's father, Peter Clark, was high on prescription drugs when he threw his son in the pool at the Park Ridge Marriott. Debbi Katcher, who was sitting poolside, said she jumped in and grabbed the child, who was floating face down in the water. Katcher says the boy turned blue, so she administered CPR. He was later taken away by ambulance and is expected to recover.

Clark was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and drug possession.
