WEEHAWKEN - A woman is recovering tonight after she was struck by a light rail train in Weehawken.

A spokesperson for NJ transit says the woman was crossing in a pedestrian walkway when she was struck.

Officials say the woman was conscious and breathing at the scene and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for trauma to the upper torso.

The incident caused a 30- to 40-minute delay for light rail trains running between the Tonnelle Avenue Station in North Bergen and Hoboken.
