Woman pleads not guilty in killing of elderly neighbor

NEWARK - A woman charged in the killing of an 88-year-old neighbor last week has pleaded not guilty yesterday in state Superior Court in Newark.

Yvonne Walker, 45, of Irvington, is charged with murder, robbery and weapons offenses in the stabbing death of Cassetta Blunt.

Blunt's body was found early Thursday inside her Irvington home. Walker did odd jobs around the neighborhood, and authorities believe Blunt might have hired her to do household chores.
