NEWARK - A 35-year-old woman fell to her death from a 10th-story window in Newark Thursday.

Authorities were called to the Stephen Crane housing project at around 12:30 p.m. when witnesses reported hearing a loud noise and found a woman on the ground.

Emergency responders tried to revive the woman, who neighbors say has an apartment on the 10th floor, but she was pronounced dead.

Police are trying to determine the circumstances behind the fall.

Police have not released the woman's name or any other information about the death, but authorities have said the Newark Robbery Squad is investigating.
