Woman claims police forced her to answer questions while undressed

DUNELLEN - A Dunellen woman is claiming police went too far in questioning her about a shooting.

Vicky Patterson says she answered her door at around 1 a.m. Friday morning. Patterson says she was wearing no clothes at the time, and figured the person at her door was a male friend who had forgotten his key.

Instead, Patterson says she answered the door and met several police officers who she claims began interrogating her on the spot about a shooting. Patterson claims that the officers would not allow her to go get dressed or bring in female officers to question her, and that they made lewd comments toward her.

Dunellen police say officers were responding to reports of shots fired and there was an active investigation. They also said that an investigation will be completed by internal affairs.
