Witnesses: Vehicle triggers 3-car accident in Linden

Witnesses say a car was speeding when it overturned and trigged a three-car accident and sent more than a half dozen people to the hospital.

LINDEN - Witnesses say a car was speeding when it overturned and trigged a three-car accident and sent more than a half dozen people to the hospital.

The incident occurred at a Hess Station by the southbound lanes of Routes 1 and 9 in Linden on Saturday.

The accident, which sent seven people to the hospital, knocked a gas pump off its block and snapped a utility pole.

The victims were taken to area hospitals. At least one was listed in critical condition at the time. Witnesses say at least one of the injured was a child.

Authorities have not released the names of the people involved in the accident.
