EDISON - NJ Transit's Hudson-Bergen Light Rail service north of the Hoboken Terminal is being affected by overhead wire damage.
Officials say approximately 2,000 feet of overhead wire is down in the area of the 9th Street station. NJ Transit says that repairs will continue through the evening and into the overnight hours.
Trains on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line will operate on the new weekend service, which can be viewed on their website. Trains will operate between West Side Avenue and Tonnelle Avenue and between Hoboken Terminal and 22nd Street in Bayonne.
The agency says there is currently no direct service between Hoboken Terminal and Tonnelle Avenue. Customers traveling north from Hoboken must transfer at the Pavonia-Newport station to continue their trip.
Trains operating between West Side Avenue and Tonnelle Avenue stations are subject to 20-minute delays in both directions until repairs are can be completed.
Some stations are also boarding trains on the opposite side. See the NJ Transit website for full details.
