PATERSON - Crews will soon start demolishing buildings destroyed by a fast-moving fire in downtown Paterson.

The fire broke out at around 5 p.m. Wednesday on River Street and quickly engulfed a building with a restaurant on the first floor.

However, wind gusts of up to 40 mph spread embers, which ignited at least four nearby buildings.

Two firefighters were hurt when they slipped on ice.
