KINNELON - Kinnelon police say a turkey broke into a home and caused major damages last week.

Authorities say a "tom" wild turkey crashed through the skylight of a home in Kinnelon and went on a rampage, breaking shelving, vases and other items.

When police arrived on the scene, the turkey took off out of the living room and smashed through a very large plate glass window and fled into the woods.

Nobody was hurt during the ordeal, but damages totaled $5,000.

Kinnelon police say turkeys aren't usually aggressive but can be startled when they see their reflections and then attack.
