WESTFIELD - Demolition on the Trader Joe’s in Westfield is expected to begin Friday morning.

Westfield Police Chief David Wayman says that a portion of the 100 block of Elm Street will be closed beginning around 8 a.m. so that the demolition can begin.

A portion of the roof and wall of the Trader Joe’s collapsed on Jan. 23 during a severe blizzard.

No one was inside the store at the time of the collapse, and no one was injured.
