West Caldwell man floods basement after losing bet

Jason Browne, owner of a Flood Restoration franchise, was so confident in his flood remediation abilities that he hosed down his basement with 1,200 gallons

WEST CALDWELL - Jason Browne, owner of a Flood Restoration franchise, was so confident in his flood remediation abilities that he hosed down his basement with 1,200 gallons of water yesterday morning.

Browne says he volunteered his West Caldwell home after he lost a bet with friends who own similar franchises around the state.

Unfortunately, the incident did not go over well with his wife. Browne's wife and kids allegedly left the home after his basement flooded and have not returned.

Browne says he expects to have the basement completely dried out in a matter of days.
