MORRIS PLAINS - Paramus police officer Rachel Morgan, 31, who was involved in a violent shootout, has had three operations since Sunday and remains in critical but stable condition.
Well wishes have been pouring in from all over the state for Morgan. News 12 New Jersey spoke with officer Morgan's former supervisor as well as two former teachers.
Jim Peterson, who worked with Morgan at the Morris County Jail for more than a year, says, "She brought a brightness to midnight shift and did a little more than what you would expect an average officer to do."
At Parsippany High School, students and faculty were praying for Morgan's speedy recovery. Former teachers Kathy Kelly and Bob Fulton say that Morgan spoke about pursuing law enforcement in high school and described her as tough, smart and loyal.
A Facebook page has been set up for Morgan which provides friends and the community updates about her condition.
