WYCKOFF - Police in Wyckoff say that a network of crafty criminals is taking a sly approach to its alleged thievery.

Police say the swindlers dress in tailored clothing and drive posh vehicles, often asking for directions to a street or a neighbor's house that does not exist. As they have a homeowner distracted, another thief may go around the back of the house or to a side window and break in.

Police are warning residents that if someone approaches your house asking for directions, no matter how well-dressed they are, you should call for help immediately.
