EDISON - Friday saw mostly cloudy skies, but mild temperatures in New Jersey. Temperatures are expected to warm for the weekend, but wet weather is ahead.

According to News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the northwestern portion of the state through Saturday morning.  Scattered rain is expected, which could mix with sleet or freezing rain.

Saturday should see mostly cloudy, but dry skies. The weather is expected to be breezy with temperatures in the mid- to high-40s.

Sunday should see rain for most of the day. Curren says the rain is expected to begin around daybreak and should last into the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach the high-50s, but late Sunday evening could see some scattered snow flurries.
