EDISON - Mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures will continue into the weekend in the Garden State.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says overnight lows will be in the high 20s, and will hover around freezing in the morning as light snow or freezing rain moves into some areas.

Temperatures will warm into the 50s on Saturday and Sunday.

Officials are closely watching an ice jam on the Delaware River that poses a flood threat to portions of New Jersey. The river clogged with ice in Trenton during record-breaking cold temperatures earlier this week. There's concern as to what what will happen downstream when the ice starts to melt.

A flood watch has been issued for Mercer and northwestern Burlington counties in New Jersey through Friday evening.
