EDISON - Winter storm warnings has been issued for much of New Jersey, while winter storm watches have been issued for Warren and Sussex Counties. The watches and warnings have been issued ahead of a storm that is pummeling the South with snow and ice.

A winter storm warning has been issued for Monmouth, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Union, Hudson, Passaic and Union counties until late Wednesday.

A winter storm watch has been issued for Sussex and Warren counties through Wednesday morning.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says the snow will begin falling on the Garden State on Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday.

Curren says parts of the state could see as much as 6-8 inches of snow.
