Weather Update: Strong storms hit across NJ

EDISON - Hazy, hot and humid conditions across New Jersey gave way to severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

There is still a severe thunderstorm watch issued for Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties, effective through Wednesday at 9 p.m.

Meteorologist Dave Curren says there are still significant thunderstorms in Monmouth, Ocean and Western Burlington counties, but they are showing signs of weakening.

Curren also says that strong storms are possible for Central and Southern New Jersey throughout the overnight and into tomorrow.
