Weather Update: Rain moves in overnight, flood warnings in effect

EDISON - Residents in northern New Jersey are keeping a wary eye on rivers and creeks as another storm bringing heavy rainfall approaches.

Flood watches and warnings are in effect for most of the northern half of the Garden State.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist James Gregorio says that rain is expected to move in overnight and that some areas could get 2 to 3 inches by tomorrow night.

More than 40 Pompton Lakes residents were evacuated early Monday from their homes along the Ramapo River. Evacuations of several families also were enforced in Lincoln Park and Hillsdale. Residents say they fear the water may not subside before the next storm.
