Weather Update: Flood warnings up, rain moves in

Flood watches and warnings are in effect across much of the northern half of New Jersey as rain moves in and threatens to raise already

EDISON - Flood watches and warnings are in effect across much of the northern half of New Jersey as rain moves in and threatens to raise already swollen waterways out of their banks.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist James Gregorio says rainfall amounts of 3 inches or more are possible for portions of northern New Jersey where streams are still running high from a weekend storm that flooded many basements and forced evacuations in areas near Pompton Lakes, Lincoln Park and Hillsdale.

Rain is expected to taper off early Friday morning. High temperatures will remain milder, reaching between 43 to 56 degrees.
