EDISON - Another sweltering day is in store for the Garden State today, with increasing humidity and temperatures climbing into the lower-90s.

An excessive heat watch has been issued for nearly all of New Jersey until later this afternoon. An air quality alert is also in place statewide.

News 12 New Jersey meteorologist James Gregorio says muggy conditions and partly cloudy skies remain in place for the overnight hours.

Gregorio says the heat wave may not break until early next week.
