EDISON - The work week started with sunny skies and warm and dry weather across the Garden State.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says humid air could reach New Jersey for Tuesday, along with some rain showers.

The weather overnight should remain mostly dry, but clouds are expected to develop. Temperatures should cool down to the low 70s.

Tuesday should start off mostly clear, but clouds and rain are expected to develop by the afternoon. Some of these rain showers could be severe, Powers says.

Wednesday is expected to see clearer skies with high temperatures near the mid-80s.

Thursday should start off sunny, but clouds could develop later in the day.
