EDISON - An excessive heat warning remains in effect for Mercer, Gloucester, Camden and northwest Burlington counties.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says the heat and humidity will combine to make it feel like the temperature is in the triple digits for most of the week. Powers says the heat will feel the worst during the late afternoon hours.

The temperatures are expected to continue to climb through Thursday, when the heat index could reach 110 degrees.

Powers says the heat wave should finally break during the weekend with cooler temperatures on Sunday. Heat warnings will remain in effect through then.
