WAYNE - Police in Wayne say fewer drivers are receiving violations based on red light cameras in their town since the devices were installed nearly three years ago.

Two cameras were hooked up at the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Black Oak Ridge Road.

Some residents say they have noticed an improvement in safety since the red light cameras were installed.

"People try to be careful not to run the stop light," says Gabby Meza. "So, less car accidents because of the camera that was put in."

Police credit public awareness of the cameras to the decline.
