WAYNE - Wayne activist Bill Brennan is moving forward with plans to criminally prosecute Gov. Chris Christie over the Bridge-Gate scandal, while also announcing his intent to run for governor.

Brennan is a former firefighter, law school graduate and private citizen who filed the complaint against Gov. Christie for his role in the Bridge-Gate case.

Brennan says that Judge Mizdol did not rule on the issue before her, but rather on whether a private resident can act as a prosecutor.

He intends to take the issue to a Superior Court and if it is rejected, to the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and even as far as the federal courts if necessary. The motion is for reconsidering the judge’s decision not to point a special prosecutor to the criminal complaint.

As far as his run for governor, Brennan will run as a Democrat.

While he has never held public office, Brennan has held several positions, including president of the firefighters union.
