JERSEY CITY - Crews are working on repairing a broken water main on Culver Avenue in Jersey City, but for a number of homeowners, the damage has already been done.

At least seven homes on the street have had their basements flooded by all the water.

One homeowner, Sandy Williams-Hagins, says the water kept getting higher and higher, until clothes and furniture started floating around her basement.

Fire officials say they have been able to stop the leak but are investigating what else may have been damaged by the leak and what might have caused it in the first place.
