Wall ATM robber posed as a police officer

Police are looking for an armed robber who posed as an officer in Wall Township.

WALL TOWNSHIP - Police are looking for an armed robber who posed as an officer in Wall Township.

The thief reportedly approached a victim at the Bank of America ATM near Route 35 and 18th Avenue Sunday night. He ordered the victim to withdraw cash at gunpoint and then took the cash and the victim’s car keys.

An image of the suspect was caught on the bank’s security camera. He is described as a white man in his 20s. He is about 6 feet tall and has dark eyes and dark eyebrows. He was wearing a dark blue scarf around his face and head at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the investigating officers, Detective Rick Pasqualini and Sgt. Chris Scerbo at 732-449-4800 or the shift supervisor at 732-449-4500.
