Waldwick sergeant under investigation after jewelry hunt

WALDWICK - A Waldwick police sergeant is under investigation after taking part in a jewelry store's treasure hunt contest. Devon Fine Jewelry in Wyckoff sponsors the event called Finders Keepers, where the owners hide pieces of jewelry in other businesses in nearby towns.

Contestants find the pieces of jewelry based on clues that the owners post on their Facebook page. Sgt. Robert Woessner was the winner of a $500 pendant that he managed to track down in Ho-Ho-Kus Bagels on Nov. 17.

Woessner is under investigation because officials say he was in uniform, on shift, when he won the piece of jewelry.
