EDISON - Loved ones gathered today to remember the Jersey City couple whose lives were taken while they were on vacation in Virginia.

A tornado caused a tree to topple on the tent where Lord Balabat and Lolibeth Ortego were seeking shelter, killing them instantly.

Today's service was held at the Greenville Memorial Home on Danforth Avenue.

The couples' three children were with them at the time, and one remains at a Virginia hospital in a coma.

Their funeral is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish on Sullivan Drive.
