KEYPORT - Children whose families have been displaced by Sandy won't be forgotten this holiday season thanks to about two dozen of Santa's helpers.

About two dozen businesses in the Keyport area have come together to form "Jersey Shore Toys & More for the Bay Shore." The organization is made up of business owners, community leaders and individual volunteers.

They started out to collect 600 toys and bikes for children, but thanks to donations that have been pouring in from across the country, they expect to be able to give even more.

Instead of the North Pole, the toys and gifts are being housed at Straub Motors in Keyport. It was the only spot in town with enough room to hold all the toys.

The gifts will be donated to children at a Christmas party this Sunday at St. John's Methodist Church.
