FAIRFIELD - Red Cross volunteers from New Jersey are headed to Louisiana to help with relief efforts from devastating flooding in the state.

Volunteers traveling in an emergency response vehicle will provide food, water and hygiene items for those in need and help with cleanup efforts for the next two weeks.

Billy McPhail, who began volunteering with the American Red Cross after Hurricane Floyd, says the trucks will be filled with food, water and cleaning supplies.

There are about 90 emergency response vehicles already in Louisiana from across the state, and about 30 other New Jersey Red Cross volunteers are already helping current flood victims.
