SEA BRIGHT - Three Jersey Shore firefighters convicted in connection to a scuffle caught on camera last year are now facing possible disciplinary action.
Firefighters had gathered at their firehouse bar for what's known as a wet-down party. They were celebrating the arrival last year of a new truck. After drinks and a war of words, three firefighters ended up in a scuffle.
News 12 New Jersey is told that the firehouse has gone dry since the incident. Two of the men, Steven and Peter Lang were convicted last month of assaulting their fellow firefighter, Justin Hughes.
Hughes was convicted of harassment. The judge ordered each to 100 hours of community service and a $500 fine. Last night, the Borough Council began its own disciplinary process.
The council is considering suspending the firefighters for two months and barring them from serving office for one year.
