NEWARK - Two people are dead after three separate shootings in Newark this weekend.

Police say three people were shot in two locations on Saturday night, killing one man and injuring at least two other people. Authorities say the man, identified as 33-year-old Alwalki McKie by the Essex County prosecutor, was shot and killed in front of 32 Aldine St.

Less than two miles away, two people were wounded in another shooting outside Prices Lounge at Avon Avenue and Hunterdon Street. Police say the victims were a female and a 27-year-old male. A third victim is believed to have been grazed in the shooting.

The violence follows the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Shakeem Walker on Friday night on Eighth Street.

Police say the victims’ identities have not yet been released.
