Vigil held for Ardie Fuqua, comedian injured with Tracy Morgan
JERSEY CITY - A prayer vigil was held Monday in Jersey City for Ardie Fuqua, the comedian who was injured in the same car crash that hurt Tracy Morgan.
Fuqua and Morgan suffered critical injuries in the June 7 crash that took the life of their friend and fellow comic, James "Jimmy Mack" McNair. Both men are now out of the hospital and in rehab facilities.
Fuqua's mother Doris Fuqua says he is in good spirits, and getting three hours of physical therapy each day. He is also being treated for brain trauma. "We would just like to thank everyone for all of their prayers," she says. "Our son is improving. He's improving a lot."

The comedian's family and friends asked for divine intervention to speed his recovery, but they also prayed for the truck driver who is being blamed for the deadly crash.
Kevin Roper is facing charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto. Investigators believe he was speeding when he slammed into the comics' limo van. The criminal complaint alleges he had not slept in the 24 hours prior to the crash.
Roper has pleaded not guilty and is out on bail.
